Everytime this game(java applet) is run it somehow occupies huge amount of memory which prevents me from opening more than 3 other applications. This is when I have 256mb ram! After the applet is closed somehow the memory isn't freed up because the same out of memory message appears again and some of the windows begin to freeze. The only way to fix this is by rebooting. With the jagex version of this game I could open 10 or more apps at the same time without crashing. I don't know how this bug was created under java because java has memory disposal. Even if I tried I wouldn't be able to program a bug like this. How did you do it??

many things may have changed since you played cyberwars on jagex's site. You maybe have different operating system now, different version of java, more viruses and trojans. I cannot help you and I strongly doubt that the problem is in my game.

You only get an out of memory message when you fill up your HD so Windows has touble running (lack of page file space). It could be that the cache Java is creating is putting you over the safe limit. If this is the case then just erase some data and you should be fine.

matlu you don't have to get all defensive about it. I'm not blaming you for anything. After all this game is free and it's of great entertainment value. I'm just trying to help by providing you with a very rational diagnose of the bug. I have plenty of memory available and more than 10gb of free disk space when I play it. I run spybot, antivirus, hijack this weekly. activex is completely disabled on my browser. Besides I still play many other java games like runescape and they don't give me the same memory leak.
But one thing I've noticed is that many people in the game get "booted" or the game crash on them while playing. I don't get that at all. So it's probably the same bug manifesting itself differently on different systems.
