as I said before, I decided to start the development of new game. After long thinking I decided to work on multiplayer MUD / RPG.
What will it look like: the engine will be very similar to Runescape 1. It will look a bit outdated, but for single person it's not possible to make anything better. And even such goal is very daring.
Right now I have NO idea at all about many important things, it will be necessary to make many decisions, like:
- the setting of the game. It could have "fantasy/fairytale" setting, like (RS), but it could be also totally different. Maybe it could be a bit sci-fi, maybe a bit cyberpunk, maybe even post-catastrophics, whatever.
It's also necessary to think, whether it will be possible to create graphics for such style. Possibilities of the engine will be very limited. In old RS the things are quite simple: ground is mostly just different shades of green or brown, buildings have just quite simple textures on the walls. And there are some objects to not look too plain - some flowers, trees etc. I don't think I can create more detailed world, it will have to remain such simple.
- gameplay, storyline. RS is being criticised as too hack&slah (read the explanation here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hack_and_slash) It could be nice to make something deeper, with some meaningful plot. But of course it is very hard to invent something interesting and addicting. Well, maybe in the end I will also end up with hack&slash, because people seem to like it

But anyway, it would be nice to have something special, to differ from RS.

It would be very helpful to hear your opinions, suggestions and ideas, so feel free to post them!

I created very first version of the engine, you can see it. PLEASE note, that there is nothing much to see yet, it has almost no graphics and no features, so don't be disappointed

Also note that it is not yet optimized, and it will be probably very slow on older computers (it will improve with time)
All you can do is:
- move your character (by clicking somewhere)
- rotate the view with left&right arrow keys
It is already "multiplayer" (if more people connect, they will see each other)
