Is what determines how long a page is the amount of posts on it or the length of the posts?

And what is the point in having another page?

No idea, it is somehow determined by this forum software. I guess it is good as it is.

Certain number of posts per page. Point is for people who a) have a slower computer so information loads in parts b) to divide up information based upon when it was relatively posted.
