Title: "anima" is italian for "soul"
Post by: anima on July 26, 2005, 12:33:35 PM
Hi. Since identity is such an important part of Cyber Battles, i would like to discuss nick names, their meaning, the reason why they were chosen, and peoples favourite names besides their own. My personal favourites are Konig_wolf and Drakonus. :P

My story is pretty simple. The company I worked for some time ago assigned to every employee an abbreviation consisting of first three letters from surname, and first two letters from first-name. That's how "Matlu" was created. This abbreviation was meant to be used only for email account and as login to some computers, but with some friends we started to like it and used to call each other with his abbreviation.

btw I remember that some time ago there was some kind of funny chain-letter suggesting people to create their "star-wars" name this way :) I don't remember the details, it was also something with letters from your name. Sometimes it was posible to create quite funny name this way.

My names rarely have any meaning... Unless it's an rpg or something, they're usually joke-names I think up on the spot, but sometimes they grow on me over time. TheMummer... When I came up with that, I didn't even know what a mummer was. Over the years I used in the Castle, I thought it was cool, but also kind of regretted it at the same time. Especially after I looked it up. McCool is another name I've gone by for a long time. It's probably almost as old as TheMummer. Back in the days I played Ultima Online, a friend of mine I met there introduced me to mIRC, and I told him to think up a chat handle for me. His suggestion was "Johnny McCool" (we joked around alot), but I ran with it. I shortened it to "McCool" eventually and the rest is history.

First, anima, if you are italian then you rock! 8)

Second The McCool = TheMummer, now that is a name that i remember very well from CW...awesome

my name...was originally AWS Sk8r...i used to sk8board, I road an Alien WorkShop sk8board...simple enough...i was previously world sk8r and bird sk8r but i changed it everytime i got a new board, i don't sk8 anymore, so i just kept this name because i was doing good with it...

AWS2 is for this site because AWS_Sk8r was an unlucky name, i think its the underscore...o well, if i make another name it will be something like HappyTurtle

Karm is my name spelt backwards. I Thought Id be traditionally creative with it and the 5000 is just a number I picked. Also I was wearing a name tag(fun stuff...um no)and looked in the mirror, saw my name inverted and thought, that would be a great warlord name. So yeah that's about it.

Title: Re: "anima" is italian for "soul"
Post by: The_Crusade on November 03, 2006, 04:54:04 PM
No, that question was horribly rude an insulting, and since you didn't end it in a question mark, you are an idiot.

Therefore my question owns yours.
Title: Re: "anima" is italian for "soul"
Post by: flamingdragon on November 04, 2006, 12:45:24 AM
Find me somewhere where it says u need to end a question with a question mark for it to be a question.
You can say a statement in a questioning voice and expect an answer

And your much ruder than I am. And somehow I don't think karm is insulted as I said no offence.

And your question is to plain to own even itself.
Title: Re: "anima" is italian for "soul"
Post by: Dodger on November 04, 2006, 12:31:21 PM
If you say something in a questioning voice then it has a question mark...
Title: Re: "anima" is italian for "soul"
Post by: flamingdragon on November 04, 2006, 09:22:18 PM
I meant u could say a statement without a questioning voice that you obviously don't know the answer to and get an answer.
Title: Re: "anima" is italian for "soul"
Post by: The_Crusade on November 04, 2006, 09:27:48 PM

yeah, you guys bicker too much.

The fires of the abysmal damnation now have a place all set up for you, dragon boy, because of the statement which you have said about my name.

In other words I have no power over any of that, don't care why or how you two figured my name was ever Mrak (for that is a horrible name for anyone to have) and also do not have a name like that, for one, you spelt it wrong. :)

This is not the smilely topic guys. There was a topic already started for that too.
