Title: Poor bakster
Post by: exiledragon on May 30, 2005, 06:10:52 PM
Do you think poker is 100 % luck too?

I'm getting noticed!

Poker is...about...90-95% luck. Possibly.

Spamming? Why would I do such a thing?

Because the question is relevent to this game, in a game betweeen two complete noobs it will seem like luck, but you lose 4/5 games to somone better than you.

Bakster.. I took a look at four different posts, and all you did was whine that the game was all 100% luck. If so, can do you it somewhere else, or maybe to yourself. If that doesn't work, then quit the game. If that doesn't work, maybe you can create your own game. Shortened : Grow up.

Bakster, if you would like, I would glady teach you a few of my skills in cyber battles.  Obviously some of this game is luck, otherwise there wouldnt be any percents, and sometimes you can take a bad beat, it happens to the best of us.  However, saying this game is 100% luck is not true.  You must know how to use the hand given to you to its fullest potential.  In addition, you must know how your oppent will use his units.  Half of the game is just thinking about your opponents next move.

I can understand the reason you are so angry though.  If you have not played the original cyber wars very long then you are at an obvious disadvantage here.  The majority of us are the old cyber wars players on the top 20 board.  It is hard to recognize who is new and who is a pro.

Like I said in the begining I would gladly teach you some of the strategies I know, just let me know if you are interested.  You may find them very helpful.

Looks like my whining got me somewhere.

You can't really use your hand if you can't summon anything. I think at least half of my 90% attempts have failed (Fire, Beacons etc). That also says a lot for the items below 90%. Just today, two beacons and one fire failed, and I only played 3 gmes.

Two .3333 does not equal .1111  In probabilities

Post by: BlitzJoker on May 30, 2005, 07:31:56 PM
Yes is does. We are not adding here, we are multiplying. .333 x .333=.110889 or about .111. And for those who dont know, .111=11.1% ;)

THis logic is flawed when the spider survives the first attack and attacks the pred

We are  ;). And exile, what do you mean it's flawed, explain.

.111 is not the probablity of the of the predator winning , just the probababilty of it killing the spider in two shots, so the numbers would not be *as* bad in a real situation.
