Alrighty, so I *illegally* obtained Photoshop the other day and its quite addicting. I've started making different things like signatures and I've read up on a few photoshop tutorials. Here's my latest signature:

Umm I don't think it's legal.....it's only version 7.0....I can't find CS2, only CS1...

What pixel dimensions do you use for the signitures?
I know that in photoshop 7.0(the one I currently use) you can right click an image and click copy, then go into photoshop and click new...and the new file will be the dimension of the image you just clicked to copy(most of the time ;))

I tried to leave the monsters their original sizes, but it looked waaay to small. There was far too much free space, or so it seemed. I'll post one up later of the original image sizes so you can see what I mean.
If imagehost is shrinking it, that is a partial reason for the distortion. Can you upload to forum, or give me the link to the version that is not sized down.

Grr, I posted that too quickly, I should have asked this first: Do you mean you are opening the .psd file when you say "I open it in photoshop..."?
If so save it from the original .psd as a GIF.
If all you have is the .jpg version this will not change anything.
Yeah, I was opening it as a .psd file at first and then saving it as a JPG. I didn't realize JPG or GIF made a difference, but here is the .gif version.
From what I have experienced, JPG uses a different type of compression. It looks as if the picture gets its pixels blurred when saved in JPG(you can see this much better on small images) I'm not really sure why it still doesn't look any better, though. Gif compresses by limiting the palette of colors, instead of the actual image quality, always compress in GIF.
Hmmm I think the images just look that way because you blew them up.... I don't see an alternative since you said they don't look good any smaller.
By the way, I still haven't downloaded PS CS2 :-\. I am very busily working on a new website and don't really have the time to learn anything different, so I am sticking with the version I have right now to make my site's graphics.
Downloading wouldn't take too long :P

I seem to get stuck when I need to apply the quick mask, it doesnt work correctly on CS2 for some reason.
Soooo... I gave it a shot anyways. I kind of experimented like I did with my signature until I saw something I liked. It doesn't exactly look like "Dripping" blood, but it looks like blood none the less.
I made two different ones, the second one I tried to make it look more like it was dripping, but I don't think it worked out too well.

Nope.
They show up clearer on your lappy because of the LCD, and the brightness.
Zoomed out I can see a few brighter dots, zoomed in I can just about see them for what they are. Grey pixels, of different shades. Possibly they look like clouds or whatever zoomed out and on a brighter monitor, I won't be able to tell.
Well, on laptops like mine, the black backround of the monsters is in stark contrast to the clouds/stars. That's why I asked you to edit it...

Photoshop is a hindrance for things like this. I don't know how you can use it.
You can do a lot more with Paint.
You're dumb. I made the entire thing in photoshop, and its much easier to use for editing pictures.
The wand tool will make deleting the backround from a 30 minute job to literally 5 minutes. Plus, none of that text/backround would be possible with paint.

I think that paint is far better at editing pictures to this scale.

I hope you're doing it right though because you didn't seem to understand why the backround needed to be removed.
That stars/clouds were a layer behind the monsters. By removing the monsters black backround, the stars/clouds were showing through. Hope that helps.
On paint, no background has to be removed, there are no layers. I'm just doing it by pixels. On top.

i the idea, but u should insted of putting the guest in big letters, make all the letters in "the guest" replace all the symbols in the matrix logo. im guessing it would take a while but might look pretty cool. that or right the guest in the same color/text as the title on the cover of the matrix

Hmm...is it possible to get band photos for Metallica and Dragonforce, and can you make Sum 41's picture brighter, I can barely see the band :(
