I didn't realise they didn't have snooker in America.
It's like pool...Actually, probably a better definition would be; It's not like pool.
Is that clear?

No, pretty sure that is Curling.

Snooker is slightly like American Pool. Only in the way that you have a 'Cue' and have to hit a White ball into different coloured balls in order to pot them in pockets on the Table. Understand?

There are big differences between Pool and Snooker.

A Snooker Table is much larger than a pool table, about...3 times as big.

There are 21 Balls on a Snooker table, 22 inclucding the White 'Cue Ball'

There are 15 red balls, and 6 other coloured balls.
The coloured balls are
Yellow
Green
Brown
Blue
Pink
Black

The aim is to pot a red ball, followed by one of the 6 other colours, then a red ball, then one of the 6 other colours, and so on until there are no red balls left.
After one of the 6 colour balls is potted, it is respotted on the table, in it's specific place.
The 6 colours are respotted each time they leave  the table until there are no reds left.
After all the reds are potted, the other 6 colours must be potted in order shown above.

When you pot any ball you get points, each ball is worth a different amount of points.
Red = 1 point
Yellow = 2 points
Green = 3 points
Brown = 4 points
Blue = 5 points
Pink = 6 points
Black = 7 points.

The winner is the person who has the most points when the last ball is potted.

It's a great game. Obviously very English. Hard to master, fun to play.

My definition of snooker:

It's like pool, except it's more enjoyable to watch and less enjoyable to play.

Could be bowls as well as curling. They are both shit anyway.

I play snooker, much more skill in it than pool. I enjoy playing snooker more. And by playing snooker for a few years, I am now amazing at pool. Win-win situation :)

Pool isn't about skill, it's a social game. You can't play snooker with the tiny amount of skill you get in pool. You have to work hard for snooker just like for any other sport. You don't for pool.

I suck at both.

So Dodger, who are you rooting to win the tournament? My favourite player is Hendry, but he lost in the first round :'(

Now I'm going for O Sullivan

Just for your information:

In America, we do not call it "American Football."  We simply call it "Football."  The only reason Europeans know it as "American Football" is because what Americans call "Soccer", Europeans call "Football."  So, in order to not confuse the two, Europeans call our game "American Football."

So there, Brit Boy ;)
