What can i do to remedy this, perhaps chopping a few fingers off?
I don't know. I think I could let the game open in new window (as it works now with single player games), this should solve the problem
This statement retracted due to nonsence ;p
Ok, this problem is HALF-FIXED now :)
In internet explorer it should never happen again.
However, in Firefox (and possible also other browsers) this problem presists. I'm still searching for a solution

Don't press backspace?
I've never had this happen to me in Firefox, possibly because I always open it in a new tab.

yes, it's probably good workaround. It only happens, if there is some 'previous' page. In new tab there is no previous page
oh, thank you matlu. I've had that problem many a times, now I find to remember to use IE. ;D
