Title: Graphics idea
Post by: BladeSabre on April 14, 2005, 02:51:06 PM
I noticed that some of the sprites seem to be facing to the left or the right. So would it be possible to flip them depending on which way they moved or shot last? For example, have all sprites drawn so they face to the left. Each unit then also has an in-game "direction" which affects whether or not it's drawn with a horizontal flip. Say I beam down a laser robot. It faces a random direction at first. Then I move it one square left, so it faces left. If I move it one square up+right, it faces right. I range to the bottom-left, so it faces left. (Up or down movements make no difference.)

So, how about it? Would it be difficult?

flipping the image accoring to movement... hm... not too hard, but still much work, and I think it's not worth the effort, sorry
