Please post your ideas for new action names (monsters/buildings/actions). They don't have to be completely different, it's enough if they are not exactly same.
I already decided to change:
Fire Hound -> Fire Fox (picture fits :) )
Battle Mech -> Mech Warrior
Buggy -> Jeep
Few 'cult' actions/items may reamin same (I would not dare to rename light-sabre ;) )
wouldnt naming the buggy to jeep be worse from a legal standpoint? buggy is very generic while jeep is a registered trademark of dalmer-crysler
a lot of the generic names can prolly stay:
alien
droid
probe
drone
fire
preditor
tenticle

I don't care that jeep is registered by somebody totally unrelated. Important is, to have different names from CW. Jeep is sure better.

I was thinking on another thread that it might be useful to change the psi-warrior and psi-lord into mechanically-enhanced creatures instead of psychic ones (like mini-cyborgs).
A carnivorous plant for the acid spitter isn't a bad idea either, though that name is too long.

I don't want to see the acid spitter get changed into a big flower though. S/He always looked like a cute dinosaur and it would be nice to keep him/her as such.

It adds to the point of jetpack. Sometimes you have to know which beacon the guy is in to kill him (otherwise you won't reach the beacon because of blocking monsters). However in the original you could mouse over with another monster's move action to figure out if it was occupied or not (Since back then beacons weren't attackable units you'd get an "Out of range or w/e" instead of "X")
Also it makes 2 transports more useful... any commander could enter either one. With "occupy" status theres no chance of attacking the wrong "fire fox," Or attacking the mutant mount instead (because both were right next to commander, the move the commander "disappeared")

I think the new hovership is more of a hover-platform or hover-car
And i suggest showing the commander in it. (if its not to much work)

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Jagex holds about no copyright to more than half of their names, becuase they are stolen from the movie "Alein." So there is no need to change. Only if you so desire, like in "Jeep".

It's not about copyright to the NAMES. It's about copyright to the GAME as whole, with THESE names. To change the names is another step to make a "little bit different game".
