what does the SMF stand for in the upper-left corner?

It is name of forum software this site uses (it stands for simple-machines-forum).

Ehm probably it should be replaced with some nifty duel board logo :)
If anybody is good with photoshop, please create some. The dimension is 400x50 pixels. It would be cool if it could fade to white on the right side (as this current SMF logo)

Here is my attempt at a banner. Couldn't really do a fade to white because it would mess up with parts of the abstract.

The font doesn't match the background. Maybe try something else?

it should blend with the other have of the top banner

atm it would be 'fade to white'

Suggestions noted. It really doesn't look good with the top. I just used a simple gradient.
