yes you are welcome

<edit>As you probably know this game (and cyber wars) is based on very old game named Chaos, it has very nice wikipedia page, so it might inspire you
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_%28video_game%29
I also tried to write down something about history, it is here
http://www.duelboard.com/about.html   maybe you could write something similar too

you can play it with online emulator (but I'll have to get used to keyboard only interface)

That game looks incredibly complicated. Not even gonna bother trying it.
Title: Re: Wikipedia
Post by: Dodger on September 18, 2005, 07:48:56 PM
I tried it  ;D loved it!
Quite difficult to use though, without a mouse. It took me a while to work out how to end my turn (press 0).
Having AI to play is excellent, even if they arn't that good.
Thanks Matlu  :)

You just have to press the number associated with the action you want to do. Other than that, in essence, it's identical to Cyber Battles

It has additional stat called "manoeuvre" which determines whether a monster is able to evade when engaged in combat. But the rest is pretty same, just fantasy instead of sci-fi :)

There was a weird action taht let you take 3 attacks at any creature on the board which was pretty awesome.

Hm, I'm confused....The Cyber Wars article doesn't come up when you search on wikipedia, nor does it crop up in Google, but it is a page as you can follow the link there....
Do you have to wait for wikipedia to check it before it becomes a resource?

"this game is all luck"
"why bother playing? all luck"
"luck luck luck"
"requires .01% skill, 99.99% luck"
"you got lucky"
"Definition of DB- luck"
"OMG I lost! I cant win b/c i dont have luck"
"OMFG WTF NO WAY! You won cuz ur lucky"
"lucky homo"
"maybe if this game was based purely on luck, people would play"

^ This is only a glimpse of what he threw around, on every single post, every single board. It was insane.
Title: Re: Wikipedia
Post by: The_Gu3st on September 21, 2005, 04:12:53 AM
I Decided to give a few real examples, all the rest were made up-

QuoteThe shizmoo games are a lot better than cyber battles. It is a test of skill, not a battle of luck.

QuoteIf it made the game a tad less luck-based, then I might have looked.

QuoteSpamming? Why would I do such a thing?

QuoteI'm getting noticed!

QuotePoker is...about...90-95% luck. Possibly.

QuoteWell the new items have to be luck based, or it would ruin the game. Lots of percentages required.

QuoteThis game has lost a player. It's not because of guests, its because this game is 100% luck.
QuotePerhaps convert the rating points to "Luck Points"?
After all, this game is all luck.

And the list goes on... and on.... and on... forever times infinity.

It may not be all luck, but it does involve more luck than I'd like. I remember why I used to quit for months at a time back when Gamesdomain Castle was still around. :P

You can't say it is just coincidence that the elite players of CW are still the elite players of DB. There is obviously a major factor that plays into this game, and that factor is skill and smarts
Title: Re: Wikipedia
Post by: Bakster on September 21, 2005, 10:37:14 PM
And do you know the best part? It's all true! ;D
Title: Re: Wikipedia
Post by: TheMcCool on September 22, 2005, 11:43:43 PM
Thing is, often-times your skill and smarts gets overrided by you having bad luck, or someone else having good luck. Not all the time, but just look at your wins vs your games played. How many of those losses would you say were because of someone really being better than you? The top-list players get there by playing..ALOT. :P Don't get me wrong, I can accept that the game is partly a game of chance and partly a game of skill. That doesn't make it a bad game. I just find that I have more fun playing games that are more greatly focused on skill.

I wasn't an elite player of CW  :) And I like to tink I'm an elite player now. I was no good back then.

Ignoring all the spam in this thread, back on topic.

It seems the Wiki got edited quite a bit (everyone's a critic ::)), almost immediately my bullshit detector went off, and I had to change quite a bit back.

Why do people have to question me? I'm always right.

Why would it be created by Jagex and then owned by BTOpenworld, unless it was bought from Jagex, in which case, u should mention that on there.

QuoteGames Domain was a very popular site owned by BTOpenworld, 'The GamesDomain Castle' was its primary source of visitors, and in its day was one of the largest multiplayer communities around.

I also missed out music. Can you play Yu Gi Oh on the net? I've never found such a site  :-[
I've tried lucid dreaming before (didn't try very hard though) and I gave up after a few days.
Title: Re: Wikipedia
Post by: flamingdragon on February 24, 2007, 03:01:40 PM
There is this online version of Yu-Gi-Oh, but it's rly stupid, u have to pay real money for cards at the same price they are in real life. So no longer are u buying worthless pieces of paper anymore, ur buying worthless virtual pieces of paper.

And still not doing to good on lucid dreaming, it says the best way to remember ur dream is to wake up exactly 7 and a half hours after u go to sleep and ur last thought before falling asleep to be "I will remember my dream". Pretty sure i've been doing both those, but havn't even been able to remember a single dream in a week.

The only trick I've done is the "looking at the hand" thing. I love sleep way too much to wake myself up during the night.
