Title: Why challenge Runescape?
Post by: simman2001 on November 18, 2005, 04:23:34 AM
I don't really have a problem with it seeing as a new MMORPG (hopefully someday) would be nice online to escape to when the world starts sucking even more  ::)

But, I have to ask, why are you challenging the Jagex Team? I'm just here asking a simple question since I came upon this site looking for information about Andrew Gower (to better my knowledge of Runescape and the Jagex Team)... and now I'm addicted to CyberWars :D

Well, I hope that this question is answered, and the game IS looking good so far ;) keep up the good work! :D

Thank you.

I'm not really challenging Jagex, it's all just coincidence :) I started to work on multiplayer games in java long time ago. I created multiplayer checkers, but I did not have own internet domain, nor own server. I knew Runescape, but I did not know that there existed game like CyberWars. (gamesdomain was already closed). I also started to work on Runescape-like game, but did not get very far (that was like two years ago). Then I learned about CyberWars, by pure coincidence, I found some fan webpages (bringbackcyberwars && cyberwars forever) and I liked that game. I contacted people who maintained these pages and we agreed that I'll make a clone. Now it's done, and I'm continuing with runescape-like game. I'm not trying to challenge jagex, I'm just trying to create a game which would be played by many people. (I was slightly disappointed by cyberbattles in this aspect, only few people play it)

Why challenge Runescape?  Because, frankly, it wouldn't take too much to beat runescape. :P

Putting all the facts together, not putting all my eggs in one basket, counting my chickens only after they have hatched and letting sleeping dogs lie I have deduced that nobody cares about runescape! Next topic.  :)

true dat.  Runescape may have many players, but that is just because its one of the only free, 3-d fantasy MMORPGs online.  It's really rather low quality.

I played for a good year or so, then I died trying to PK and lost all my stuff So I took up smithing/mining, but it was so repetitive and boring that I quit.

Now my account has been given to about 5 people, and I can't access it anymore :'(

No. Runescape is too sucky now in my teen years. Especially the new 3D graphics, they blow. The 2D graphics were much more colourful and clear.

Thanks for the offer ;D

My brother (8 years old) just signed up to become a member yesterday. I guess there was some runescape craze at his elemetry school and now hes some runescape fanatic.

Anyways, how should I put this...he sucks.
He's lvl 20 somethig and has pretty much no equipment. If you could help him out ults that would be great. His username is bullhogx (lmao?)

Tried playing rune scape but could never log in using the server or maybe every computer I used to log into the site was junk I don't know. It is over-rated and boring. I would rather be playing cyberbattles or Poxnora honestly.

Well, you do have to pay monthly for World of Warcraft, but not Guild Wars, you just buy the game and thats it, at least I think, and it seems like a pretty awesome game.

I think i'm gonna get it. (Impossible To Download)

actually you are incorrect due to the fact that a lvl 67 who completes underground pass and has 50 mage can do easily 22s ,and dont say its impossible i have a lvl 34 pure with 60 mage and  31 defence with 25 range

Figures that you would bring that up Dragon but I would have thought that The Cursade would have first.

BUT you of everyone on this board have no right to judge anothers grammer and spelling Dragon. If I do not, you for sure. Its like the old cooking pan calling the cast iron frying pan black. :/

I used to have bad grammar when I was on site about 3 years ago or something, but then I rarely used the internet. I remember I even used to stick up for ults when people made fun of his bad grammar, but now I use pretty good grammar, and make fun of ults as well.

We do because in the United States they call it grammer, in England they must call it grammar i'm guessing.

spelt
O.E. spelt, perhaps an early borrowing from L.L. spelta "spelt" (c.400, noted as a foreign word), which is perhaps ult. from PIE base *spel- "to split, to break off" (probably in ref. to the splitting of its husks in threshing), which is related to the root of flint. The word had little currency in Eng., and its history is discontinuous. Widespread in Romanic languages (cf. It. spelta, Sp. espelta, O.Fr. spelte, Mod.Fr. Èpeautre). The word also is widespread in Gmc. (cf. O.H.G. spelta, Ger. Spelt), and a Gmc. language is perhaps the source of the L.L. word.
