Phew!! My browser was hijacked by the malicious 'search2web' spyware!

This b****** is so evasive, even Adaware, Spybot, Spyblaster, Spyware Doctor and hijackthis could not get rid of it!  :o

However, I stumbled cross a lil' gem called LOPuninstaller (which i now thoroughly recommend) and it sent that spyware shit into oblivion  ;D

That's another victory in the war on spyware.

peace out 8)

I actually have a few things I could suggest, as I have dug myself out of a few holes.

To start off if you want a complete guide...use this page, you could live your life by it.  http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/tshoot.html (This guide is truly intense, so only go through the stuff suggested here if you really suspect a problem!)

Get every program suggested there, and also get Javacool's SpywareBlaster at:
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Next if you downloaded AOL Instant Messanger, because you have to since everyone else does  ::), then you may have some problems!

-First off I hope you only installed the messanger.....and not the super cool adware full ad-ons they push on you(Wild Tangent, the company that provides their gaming support, is a behemoth of a spyware/adware provider) and the also try to push WeatherBug(bundled with adware) on you! If you did install the other software they push on you, the above guide will surely remove it :)
-And if you did avoid all that crap, you are bound to fall into some trap trying to hijack your profile, away message, or even entire messanger.....theres a program to save you!!! It goes by the simple but fitting name of AIM Fix, and is available at: http://www.jayloden.com/aimfix.htm.

Hope that helps some people through the horrors of unwanted advertisement that goes on.

I just got a virus today from an automatic program that sends IM's via AIM (yes, I am one of those cool people that use it ;-)) and it took 2 HOURS TO GET OFF! ARGH. It was called Trojan.Lowzones. Anyone heard anything of it?
