me and   kxb(i think it was him) were in a game and we thought of some new  stuff that could make this game even more diffrent from the old cw


#1  a weapon called swap  it  randomly takes a card from 1 of ur opponents and gives it to u

#2 a card that allows u 2 beam down/ hologram  2 things in 1 turn

#3 make light sabre  into  light sword (diffrent then the 1 cgd had)

and thats all i remember talking about there was spmething else though

I think the card swap is a good idea, where an exchange of cards is done randomly. Two holos in one turn...no.
Don't know what light sword is or was.

ULTS YOU LOSER! DONT GIVE KXB MY CREDIT! IT WAS ME (The_Guest)!!! anyways, so we're laying and we came up witht these ideas like:

Well first, obviously give back all old things like electro pulse, virus, distrupter, disintergrator.

And then ADD:

Swap- Steal a card at random from opponents hand.

2 Beams- Waste one turn using this card, if successful, then on your next turn you can attempt to BEAM (AND ONLY BEAM) 2 monsters.

Freeze- Freeze an oppenents monster from moving for (you pick) turns.

X2 Movement- If sucessful, you or your opponents monster can now move twice as much for (you pick) turns. For example.... eye can move 6, after usuing, it can move 12.

/2 movement- same concept as one above except movement is cut in half.

Undo Move- Suppose your opponent does something that really upsets you, by using this move, everything you and your opponent(s) did the turn before is undone. For example... his pred kills your queen.... you use "undo" and then the queen comes back to life and the pred is moved back to old position

%100 percent mind control- works no matter what, but the catch is it only last one turn.

Super Beacons- makes beacons, only 3, that will give you 2 etra cards instead of one.

Well anyways, you get the concept. I think move like this would definitly devolope new game styles and perhaps better ones. Also, they would be extremely helpful in bad situations since most of them are defsive type of moves. And i was thinking that if you were to add a significant amount of thing, you would increase amount of cards we can hold so we dont get stuck with hands that have more items than monsters or you could just Possibly add some new monsters, for each new alien monster make a new mech monster.

Oh, i forgot to mention, make a move where your commando and INVINCIBLE for (you pick) moves. OR you can make it so he is INVISIBLE to your opponents for (you pick) moves.

and also, make a move like "Time Machine" where it makes the targeted opponent's timer half as much. So instead of 40 seconds, its 20 seconds.

i just thought of this........Duplicate.... take a monster and   make 2 for instance b mech 5 resitance so u have 50% chance of this working on it

that would be nice too but I think we are thinking of TOO many item associated moves, it would be nice to make a few more monsters too.

we do need more stuff but not items ....we have enough items right now we need more various monsters .....

i'll make some stuff up:
Mech:
cyclone(biker kind of monster): 3 strength,2 defence,3speed,4res
truck(like a upgraded jeep):3 strenghth,4defence,5 speed,5 res

alien:
ET (:P): 2 strenghth,4 defence,3 speed,range 4, range strength 3,res 4


Neutral:
warrior (human typed): 4 strength,5defence, 1 speed, 5 res

i don't know if you will like them but all i could come up with

Goodness gracious all ye players of olde duelboard. We are arguing amongst ourselves when the o great Matlu should be the one telling us which ideas are crap and which ones are better. No point in telling each other what great ideas we have to each other when we dont even know if Matlu is watching the stupid fued. You guys done wasting my time yet?

A game made like this would not make it in the business........if it were soley based on what matlu likes and dislikes the game might be great for him, but the majority may hate it. You must take into consideration what the majority wants, and tune your game to that.

I really don't know. I sort of feel that I'm in a dead end with Cyber Battles. I want you to understand my point: I have spent half a year working on it, and now I have NICE game with maybe 100 active players. The problem is, that it really doesn't pay off to run such site for 100 people. It's something like to open a big supermarket in a tiny village with 100 inhabitants.
And I really don't know how to attract more people. Word-of-mouth way doesn't seem to work very well. Maybe most people consider such game obsolete at the present?
The only idea I can come with is to make some paid advertising - and I guess I will TRY it, but I cannot spend too much money on it, and the outcome is VERY unsure.
And: CB is GREAT game, but I sort of don't believe that it will ever get some very big audience. I'm really afraid that most people would just consider it too outdated, and won't pay any attention to it. I think it's more likely that people will play Chess, Checkers, Reversi, Connect 4, because these games are well-know and very popular.

The best next thing I can think of  - is to make some really attractive game. And it should be: some MUD/MMORPG. Something with very similar engine as Runescape 1. I would probably like to make it VERY different, for example to style it a bit sci-fi, maybe cyberpunk or post-apocalyptic, whatever, I don't know yet.
This is best thing I can think of, and I guess I will concentrate on it. In fact I started working on such game one year ago and lot of work is already done, but I put it on hold due to CB. I think I will try to dust it off now. I will show you some prototype very soon.

Regarding CB:
- it's no problem to make small changes. Add new creatures, or some other small change. But please no dramatic changes.

I hope you understand my point. Any ideas/comments are welcome.

Focus on polishing off Cyber Battles in order to secure those 100+ players for the long term.

Cool, good luck with it  the RPG then.

Sounds like it could be your first Magnus Opus.

My top tip to succeed is you need three things in a game:

i) Accumulation - the more someone plays, the more they gain
ii) Depreciation - the less someone plays, the more they lose
iii) Community - People to gain or lose, against or with.

(Accumulation - Depreciation) * Community = Addiction

I'm not so far yet. I will have to finish the engine and some tools (for example it will need tome editor)... it is very big amount of work. Then I'll think about gameplay. I will ask people for the ideas. I'm not sure if there is even a chance to finish it, but I guess I will at least try.

nah we fiqured out that they have to be real cuz 2 holos would be unstopable so they have to be real and i wanted yellow sword that stood  for courage and honor :(

a couple of monsters wouldnt hurt. I had a good monster i mentioned back few months ago. I forgot what it was though, it would of made a great alien creature.

Extinguish fire?? Nooo. Fire is only good becuase it cant be destroyed, it makes fire and goo both equal.
